In her last season as an U18 at her home club , Sally Stott was able to raise the North Shield on behalf of Lancashire.
17 converted tries totaling 109 unanswered points in 75 minutes of rugby simply underlined the level of the achievement.
Whilst Cumbria , who tweeted Lancashire are the side that set the level , Durham and Northumberland fought hard it was Yorkshire that pushed Lancashire closest.
The fact that players on both sides of this fiercely contested game are not just friends , but team mates and tour mates simply added spice to a great encounter and the game...to be repeated on 30th November and will be a classic of girls rugby.
Whilst the crowd expected and got great performances from the established names , with Sally driving the team forward, Charlie a constant threat, Molly unstoppable and Holly untouchable , there were great performances from new players including Tamzin from Southport but all the coaches agreed that the outstanding performance of the day , not just for stepping up to Hooker , her tackling, open play both individually and in support and a phenomenal solo try must go down to Daisy Morrissey.
