West Park St Helens Celebrate England Triple Debut

Three former West Park teenagers debuted together as England U20s women beat a very strong Army team featuring several full internationals by 41 to 12.
Molly Morrissey started at 4 where she joined Waterloo’s own Cath O Donnell and with Lancashire Roses star Zoe Aldcroft at 8 an old partnership was reformed, sadly injury in the previous days training match to former Lancashire U18’s captain and England elect vice captain Sally Stott prevented half the pack having Lancashire connections.
All three were much involved in a blood and thunder first half were despite their lead England were much under the cosh. Molly was stopped inches short following a tremendous pick and go from gaining a debut try.
Despite leading 17 v 12 Holly Aitchisons introduction after half time coincided with a very unfortunate yellow to the England 13 and it was again backs to the wall for England , but one tremendous break from Holly , much against the run of play , lead to an offload to the England 15 , a 50 meter sprint and a try under the posts which Holly converted.
With 20 to go Rachael Woosey was introduced, on her first touch an offload to her 40 meters out following another Aitchison break , she outran the cover, ran over the winger to score under the posts again Aitchison converted.
Minutes later from a defensive scrum in their own 22 Woosey’s second touch lead to an 80 meter break were she simply outpaced everyone to score in the corner.
In the dying moments following an Aitchison penalty to the corner, Morrissey simply out leapt the opposition to set upa 10 meter driving maul for England to score their final try , Aitchison hitting the post from the touchline conversion.
In front of the senior England management the Lancashire girls had a hand in five of Englands 7 tries and did themselves no harm at all for the future.
